RE-MISSION: When the Storm Clears and the Soul Speaks

There are moments in life that break everything into before and after.

Moments when your breath catches, tears of relief burst like a dam, and your priorities reorder themselves in an instant.

Something in your soul whispers, the screams, “It’s time to begin again.”

Last week, I had one of those moments.

After two rounds of breast cancer, seven years apart, my circulating DNA test came back negative. After months of fear, worry, uncertainty, and holding my breath, I can finally say the words I’ve waited so long to speak:

I’m in remission.

And with that news, something inside me shifted, not just in my body, but in my soul. The pace I was moving at, the plans I’d made, the shape of what I thought this season would be, it all suddenly felt different. The future was longer and brighter and more in my control.

What came rushing in was not a desire to do more, but a call to go deeper.

The Power of a Re-Mission

In Bring Your Big Energy, I write that purpose isn’t a fixed destination, it’s a dynamic force of your own personal human evolution. One that grows with us, especially in moments that demand reflection.

What I’ve come to realize is that remission brought me a new mission. Or rather, a re-mission, a chance to reorient. To reassess. To realign not just what I do, but how I do it and why.

In the language of my Big Energy book, this is what I call an Intensity Point. A defining moment that shifts everything. It’s the pause that reveals what we’ve been too busy, too scared, or too exhausted to see.

And just like I coach others to do, I found myself walking through the SPARK process again—but this time not as a guide, but as the student. Reflecting on what truly matters. Letting go of the parts that no longer fit. Listening to the whisper of what’s next, rather than forcing a plan.

It is moving from survival mode to thriver and riser mode. Momentum is no longer a necessary tool to keep me from drowning in the wake of it all, but instead it is based in active hope and a path to run on that I feared no longer existed.

For me, this looks like slowing the pace of my book tour to prioritize deeper presence at home. It looks like creating space to dream, to connect in new ways, and to build what’s next with more intentionality than ever before.

For you, a re-mission might look like stepping away from something that’s no longer aligned. Or choosing stillness over striving. Or starting something you’ve delayed for too long.

Whatever it looks like, the invitation is the same: realign with your energy. Trust what you know now. And give yourself permission to pivot.

Presence as Power

This remission is not just a health update. It’s a soul update.

It’s a recalibration from hustle to presence.

From pressure to clarity.

From doing to being.

Because here's what I know now with even more certainty: we are allowed to evolve. We are allowed to shift direction, not because we failed or fell behind, but because we’ve awakened to a deeper truth.

And that is not a detour. That’s the way forward.

IGNITE THE SPARK: A RESULTS RESET (From Chapter 4, Results)

Wherever you are on your journey, I invite you to pause with me for a moment of reflection.

Ask yourself:

  • What if you allowed yourself to redefine success this season?

  • What results actually matter to you—not what you should chase, but what your soul wants to feel?

  • What would it look like to be proud of yourself at the end of this summer?

Write down three things. Let them guide your next brave steps.

You don’t need a life-altering diagnosis to create a re-mission. You just need to listen—to your body, your heart, your energy.

As I wrote in the book: “The journey is no longer about me. It’s about using my energy in ways that serve others. That’s what living authentically is all about.”

And sometimes, that kind of service starts right here—with honesty, reflection, and the courage to choose a new way forward.

Here’s to whatever your re-mission may be.

Big love,

Stacey
